ISAMEL takes luxury to a new level with unique and eco-friendly swimwear styles featuring details you won’t find anywhere else. After coming off the back of a successful crowdfunding campaign, ISAMEL needed to create a Direct to Consumer storefront for their premium and sustainable line of swimwear. Aztech worked with ISAMEL to create a modern, minimal and elegant storefront to represent their brand.
ISAMEL was founded by luxury women’s wear designer Kendall Barry. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and on celebrities attending VIP red carpet events such as The Met Gala, The Emmys, The Tony’s, and The Oscars. She used the global pandemic as an opportune time to pivot and follow her longtime dream of launching her luxury swimwear business - ISAMEL.

As an early stage business, Aztech had to think strategically about the type of eCommerce infrastructure that ISAMEL needed in order to meet existing demand, but also to stretch to meet the needs of ISAMEL’s scaling business in the future.As part of the project brief, we also needed to create an eCommerce experience that was representative of ISAMEL as a premium luxury swimwear brand.
A number of the requirements of the design and build functionality fell outside of the ‘out-of-the-box’ capabilities of the Shopify back-end. We had to ensure a high quality customer experience at every step of the user journey, including post purchase support.
Aztech was asked to create pre-order functionality for the full product catalogue to meet with initial production timelines and synchronize with their crowdfunding campaign. ISAMEL’s team needed to understand the store’s performance metrics daily, monthly and yearly. Our goal was to help the team learn about which funnels and UX functionality were performing and how they might strategically improve their top of funnel and lower funnel metrics for the most impact.

Additionally, Aztech prides itself on coming up with creative solutions to client challenges. Sometimes it’s programmatically enhancing a native Shopify feature, other times it can be using one or more apps to create the needed functionality.Aztech successfully helped ISAMEL to launch their brand within 8 weeks from our initial engagement. We coordinated with their team and liaised on both logistical and production requirements.
Aztech’s team of Marketers, Product experts and Data analysts worked together to implement & string together analytics dashboards to monitor the site's performance.
This gave the team the ability to look deeply at conversion, average order value, bounce rates, engagement rates, and site traffic. This data, coupled with campaign performance data allowed both the ISAMEL team and Aztech team to spot gaps in the top of funnel and lower funnel conversion and help shape a roadmap for ISAMEL’s business for the next 6-12 months.
