Syllucid is dedicated to producing fair, sustainable and long-lasting electronic products. The company was started to give consumers responsible alternatives. Aztech successfully helped Syllucid to launch their brand new eCommerce storefront. We coordinated with their team and liaised on both logistical and production requirements.

Project Overview

Syllucid is dedicated to producing fair, sustainable and long-lasting electronic products. The company was started to give consumers responsible alternatives, to show the true cost of electronic products on the planet, and to work towards reforming the electronics industry so that people and the environment are treated with respect.

“We started Syllucid to not only raise awareness for the issues in electronics, but to also provide fairer and more sustainable solutions. Syllucid aims to tackle systemic industry issues and shared challenges by creating partnerships with suppliers, customers, peers, NGOs, and governments. They create planet-centric supply chains for their products—with the goal of creating a net positive impact.

Syllucid engaged Aztech to Design and Build their new eCommerce storefront. They had recently come off the back of a successful crowdfunding campaign and now needed a way to sell their sustainable electronics products directly to consumers. Syllucid needed a storefront that represented the essence of their sustainable mission while allowing customers to purchase their new line of products in a seamless manner.

Key Challenges

As an early stage business, we had to think strategically about the type of eCommerce infrastructure that Syllucid needed in order to meet existing demand, but also to scale up in the future.

We also had to think about how to best position Syllucid for growth and expansion after coming off a successful crowdfunding campaign. We needed to create an eCommerce experience that was representative of Syllucid’s desire to establish itself as a premium supplier of sustainable electronics products.

Inventory and supply chain challenges for Syllucid meant that we also had to create a solution to allow them take Pre-Orders for products on their storefront. This meant we also had to ensure a high quality customer experience at every step of the user journey, including post purchase support

Our Solution

We started off by conducting a discovery phase to learn more about Syllucid. It became very clear that communicating the sustainable nature of their product and production processes was paramount to their brand.

Syllucid’s approach to fairtrade and sustainable production practices is what resonated with their initial customers and helped them to run a successful crowdfunding campaign. Understanding this, Aztech began the design process to create Hi-Fi wireframes that represented the Syllucid brand and story.

It was important to communicate the production journey and highlight the stories of the various stakeholders across the Syllucid supply chain.

Product Videos on PDP

We leveraged video to showcase the quality of Syllucids products on the PDP page. This dynamic content helped to showcase to customers just how robust their product really is.

Custom Payment Processing

We helped Syllucid setup and configure custom payment processing for unique markets on their store. Being based in Europe, it was important for Syllucid to appeal to local customers with payment processors that they are familiar with. We configured Mollie for payment processing in local markets.


Implementation of a chat bot

With a loyal customer base coming off a successful crowdfunding campaign, it was critical to help Syllucid maintain a strong relationship with their early adopters. We implemented a chatbot and unified backend dashboard for customer communication on Instagram, FB Messenger, WhatsApp and SMS.
